Venous diseases
Chronic venous disease is a progressive condition in which the superficial veins can dilate and venous congestion develops. Complaints often include heaviness and a dull pain in the legs, itching, burning, muscle cramps and swelling around the ankle — typically getting worse after prolonged standing or sitting.
The assessment begins with a conversation about the complaints, a clinical examination and, where indicated, a Doppler ultrasound scan, which provides detailed information about the state of the venous system.
Modern treatment covers several groups of approaches — lifestyle changes, compression therapy, medication, sclerotherapy and minimally invasive methods, including radiofrequency ablation and phlebectomy. Which approach is suitable is determined individually after an examination and diagnostics.
- Diagnosis and follow-up of varicose veins and chronic venous disease
- Assessment and treatment of thrombophlebitis
- Radiofrequency ablation and sclerotherapy according to individual indications
